AFTER signing a multi-year contract with Nissan Motorsport just days ago, V8 Supercar driver, James Moffat, will head into this weekend’s Winton 360 with the comfort of a secure future.

Moffat, who currently sits 15th in the championship standings, said he was very happy with his recent announcement to remain a factory driver for the coming seasons, after speaking with the Wangaratta Chronicle in the lead up to the Winton event.

“It was always the intention to stay with the team, and luckily they felt the same, so it’s been good to lock something away so we can get on with the job,” he said.

“We knew it was going to be a hard season, with the development and learning of the new car (Nissan Altima), but the multi-year deal allows continuity in the program.

“Winton is a track I’ve done heaps of laps around, not only in V8 Supercars, but coming up through the ranks in Formula Fords, Carrera Cup and the Development Series.

“It is our test track, and we’re coming off a two-day test there last week, but we’ll go to Winton with a bit more confidence than what we’ve had heading into some of the other races we’ve been to this year.”
