It’s a reality for a young Wangaratta man, who spoke to the Wangaratta Chronicle about the unwelcomed level of abuse from complete strangers.
The 21 year old lifelong Wangaratta resident, who agreed to talk on the provisio we not name him, is frustrated by the prejudice among some people in his hometown.
“I’ve been frequently abused in public for years now, for simply existing,” he said.
“I’m a quiet, unobtrusive, good-natured person yet it keeps coming.
“Perfect strangers sometimes delight in outward aggression, exhibiting their prejudice and revulsion about something most people actually got over a few decades ago: homosexuality.”
