MAYOR Rozi Parisotto holds no fear of the council she leads being dismissed.
Her statements come after the Local Government Minister, Jeanette Powell extended the term of Municipal Inspector, Peter Stephenson, by one month.
Minister Powell also made some pointed comments towards council, telling councillors their fate is in their hands, and that there were unresolved problems at the council.
She has also openly discussed the possibility of dismissing the council and explained the steps that would need to be taken for that to happen.
But Cr Parisotto said she was confident council wouldn’t be dismissed.
“No, not at all,” she said when asked if she thought the council would be dismissed.
“I’m very positive about council meeting all of its statutory obligations.
“We’ve been working very well together and had great support from the acting CEO and the acting directors.
“It’s been excellent.”
