PAINTERS Island has hit the unwanted milestone of 10 floods in two and a half years.
The park is again underwater today, after a waterfall came flooding in from Apex Park yesterday.
Park manager, Shane Downie, was left with no option but to watch the water rush in and slowly fill his park.
He said the cruel irony was that park staff and helpers had only just finished cleaning up the park from the last flood from a fortnight ago, which had created the worst mess Mr Downie had seen.
The flood occurred when the river was at just 12.14m, above the minor flood level of 11.9m but below moderate flood level of 12.4m.
The water again came from the Apex Park side of the park, where the levee bank is just 12.05m, below the rest of the park’s levees which sit at 12.4m.
