BROWN Brothers’ foothold in Tasmania will be consolidated through the establishment of a unique cellar door.
The Milawa based company plans to build the cellar door at the biggest vineyard in Tasmania, Devil’s Corner.
Last week Brown Brothers received $33,000 towards a $60,000 feasibility study to develop a strategic plan for building the cellar door, courtesy of the Federal Government’s T-QUAL – Tourism Quality Projects funding stream.
Brown Brothers executive director Ross Brown said the company doesn’t want to build “just another cellar door”.
Instead it will be an iconic “must-visit” site, capturing the interest of tourists and being sympathetic to the history and ecology of the region.
“The vineyard has some of the most spectacular visual sites in Tasmania,” Mr Brown said.
