Bushies slip further after second straight heavy defeat

THE Murray Bushrangers have slipped to eighth on the TAC Cup ladder after suffering their second straight heavy defeat, going down to Eastern Ranges by 39 points on Saturday.

A poor start saw the Bushrangers down by six goals at the first change and from there they couldn’t recover, eventually going down 12.23 (95) to 8.8 (56).

And the 39-point loss could have and probably should have been much greater given the Ranges’ poor accuracy in front of goals.

But despite their inaccuracy, the Ranges all but had the game sewn up at quarter time.

Led by a best on ground performance from Mitchell Honeychurch (three goals), the Ranges had 15 scoring shots in the first quarter and while they only kicked five goals, they still led by 34 points at the first change.
