MILAWA took another large step towards taking out the minor premiership for the second consecutive season on Saturday, with a blistering second half helping them to a 93-point win over Whorouly.

With Tarrawingee falling to Moyhu, the Demons are now the clear ladder leader with 14 wins and just two losses from 16 matches.

The Demons were always on top aagisnt the Lions, bolting from the blocks to kick four first quarter goals.

Inaccuracy was a problem as they kicked seven behinds, however, they still led by 24 points at the first change.

To their credit the Lions didn’t let Milawa have everything its own way and kicked four goals in the second quarter to hold that lead at four goals.

Kieren Schulz, Matthew Dalbosco and Luke Matheson were trying hard but the Lions had to continue to run and create.

Unfortunately, they lost that run and creativity in the third quarter as Milawa found the gear that they have so often gone to this year when challenged.
