THE WJ Findlay Oval will host the Ovens and King Football Netball League grand final for the third consecutive year after the league released the draw for the 2013 finals series.
After hosting the grand final for the previous two years, the league again decided to stick with the WJ Findlay Oval with the neighboring Norm Minns Oval hopeful of hosting the Ovens and Murray grand final.
The first three weeks of the finals will be played at Tarrawingee and Milawa with both grounds to host a qualifying and elimination final on the first weekend.
Tarrawingee will host semi and preliminary finals on August 31 and September 7 respectively while Milawa will also host those finals matches on September 1 and September 8.
AFL Victoria Country development manager Zac Guilfoyle said the decision to go with the WJ Findlay Oval was an easy one.
“The last two Ovens and King grand finals have been fantastic at the WJ Findlay Oval so the league has decided to continue that relationship,” he said.
“If Wangaratta Magpies were successful in its bid to host the O&M grand final they would want to have the ground vacant before then.
“The O&K needed to make a decision so they have decided to stick with the WJ Findlay Oval.”
