AFTER an extensive recruitment process, AFL North East Border has announced Glenn Finlayson has been appointed as leagues manager.
Current Leagues Manager Zac Guilfoyle has been appointed to one of the newly created football development manager roles and will be retained in the office structure.
He will work closely with Finlayson, league executives and clubs in the region during an initial handover period while operations manager, Leon Kowski will assume greater responsibilities.
Finlayson was selected from a long list of applicants and brings to the position a wealth of administrative and management experiences having held senior positions in other organisations.
Specifically, Finlayson has led, supervised and managed staff teams, including a volunteers sector since 2006 in the delivery of services and programs to the general community.
Finlayson has been involved with football in the region over a number of years as a player in the Ovens and King, a member of a football department in the Ovens and Murray and he now is enjoying the experience of Auskick with his young family participating in the program.
Based at the AFL North East Border head office in the Wangaratta Sports Development Centre, Finlayson will assume responsibility for the AFL North East Border League management department.
This department looks after the Ovens and King, Tallangatta and District, Upper Murray, Wangaratta and District Junior leagues as well as the Albury Netball Association.
Finlayson will commence in the role on July 29.
