THE world, or at least her political opponents, are out to get Sophie Mirabella (MHR, Indi).
That’s how the local member (pictured) feels, after enduring a torrid start to her week, which she says was orchestrated by the “GLI” club, a Greens, Labor, independents alliance.
Retiring independent, Tony Windsor, kicked things off on Sunday when he labelled Mrs Mirabella the politician he would miss the least in Federal Parliament, giving her the “nasty prize”.
He also threw his support behind Voice 4 Indi’s independent candidate, Cathy McGowan.
Other candidates for Indi have since voiced their disapproval of the way Mrs Mirabella goes about her business, with Greens candidate Jenny O’Connor, reaffirming her stance that Mrs Mirabella’s “behavior and attitude are unacceptable”.
Mrs Mirabella said the “GLI” club was united against her.
“The Greens candidate was quite open and honest in saying they were all united against Sophie Mirabella, which is their right,” she said.
“It’s a shame there’s a negativity of being against something but the people of Indi will judge that for what it is.”
