Missing hunter found near Harrietville

UPDATE: THE 20 year old South Australian man, missing in bush near Harrietville, has been found safe and sound.

The man followed the sound of the searchers and walked into camp at 1.10pm.

Despite spending a night in the cold he was fit, healthy, and in good spirits.


POLICE Search and Rescue, State Emergency Service crews, and local police are continuing to search for a missing deer hunter near Harrietville.

The 20 year old South Australian man was last seen by his hunting companion near the Albion Track at about 5.30pm yesterday when they were separated.

He failed to return to camp and emergency services were notified just before 9.30pm.

Police Search and Rescue  established a command post this morning and are still coordinating the search.

The missing man was carrying a small amount of food and water and police believe he was in good physical health, but have concerns for his welfare because he was only wearing light clothing.
