TIME is running out for community groups to register to sell tickets for the 2013 Wangaratta Community Raffle.
The raffle is being run by Jubilee Golf Club for the first time this year, after the YMCA and the Rural City of Wangaratta were forced to stop running the raffle.
Council is still involved however, stumping up for the major prize, a $29,490 Ford Focus.
Mayor Rozi Parisotto said proceeds from the sale of each ticket donated go back to the community group selling the tickets.
“The community raffle initiative has proven to be a great success and for some community groups it has become one of their most successful fundraisers,” Cr Parisotto said.
“The more raffle tickets a group sells, the more money it raises.
“So I really encourage local groups to participate and reap the benefits.”
Prizes for the raffle are:
- A 2013 LW Ford Focus 2.0 litre petrol, six-speed auto, sport hatch valued at $29,490 “on the road” from Ovens Ford Wangaratta;
- A cruise travel voucher, destination of the winner’s choice, valued at $5000 from Harvey World Travel Wangaratta;
- A grocery voucher valued at $1000 from Steve and Linda’s Supa IGA; and
- A fuel voucher valued at $500 from Rowan Street Service Centre Pty Ltd.
Community groups have until July 13 to register to sell tickets, with raffle tickets on sale from July 29.
The community group that sells the winning ticket will receive a cash prize of $1000.
Registration forms are available from Customer Service Team at the Wangaratta Government Centre, 62-68 Ovens Street, Wangaratta or from council’s website: www.wangaratta.vic.gov.au.
