Too much firepower

VICTORIAN assistant coach Mario Antonello has lit the fuse ahead of tonight’s Albury/Wodonga Football Association State of Origin clash, saying NSW won’t be able to contain his side’s firepower.

In the first ever State of Origin clash in the league, Victoria will unleash star duo Stefan Joseph and Dan Summers on NSW with both in top goal scoring form.

Summers has kicked the most goals this season while Wangaratta City’s Joseph sits a close second and is coming off a double last round.

Antonello said the duo would get plenty of chances to continue their scoring feats and predicted NSW would have trouble stopping them.

“I reckon we’ll have too much firepower for the NSW boys,” he said.

“Our midfield and forwards will be too much for them to handle.

“The two strikers we have are sitting first and second on the most goals scored list.

“Just with them it will be tough for NSW.”
