THE Wangaratta Cycling Club conducted its Individual Time Trials last Saturday on the 14km (and 8km for juniors) Warby Range Rd and Shanley Street course.
Under cool and sunny skies, riders started at 1min intervals with the objective to better their opponents’ times and get a reality check on their own previous ITT results.
Being the ‘Race of Truth’, each rider’s result is based on how efficiently they can ride the course on the day which takes into account their personal, physical and mental preparation, and their bike setup/ mechanical efficiency.
In-form local Tully Lyster finished the fastest in a time of 20 minutes and 14 seconds to come home 25 seconds faster then second placed Matt Clark.
Glynn Mathey and Tony Reeckman were separated by just 13 seconds for third and fourth place respectively while Ray Jarrett was a further nine seconds behind, making up the top five.
Laurie Lyster, Chris Howard, Bernie Grealy, Seamus Lane and Paul Lane rounded out the top 10.
