Rivals lock horns

HIGH STAKES: Opposing coaches Mario Antonello and Michael Sacco with the La Fiera Cup, which goes to the winner of Sunday’s match.

WANGARATTA City faces its biggest test of the Albury/Wodonga Football Association season on Sunday when it faces top side, and arch rival, Myrtleford at Savoy Park.

“We play for the La Fiera Cup now but the rivalry between the two sides goes back a long way.

“I can remember watching these games when I was three or four years old.

“It doesn’t matter where the two teams are on the ladder – the matches are always tight with the exception of last season.”
