Bell out for redemption

OVENS and King interleague captain Jamie Bell looms as one of the keys to the side’s hopes of success against the Central Highlands at Buninyong tomorrow, and the North Wangaratta ruckman is determined to do his part.

Bell was dealt a one-week suspension in the week leading up to last year’s interleague clash with the Picola and District league, and his absence was notable as the O&K desperately lacked tall targets and ultimately went down by four points.

“That was really disappointing,” Bell said.

“Because I was really looking forward to playing last year.

“It means a lot just to represent the league – it’s something I haven’t done for about nine years.

“So to be named captain this year is even more of an honor, and I can’t wait to get out there.”
