A WANGARATTA pensioner has finally come forward to claim his division one TattsLotto prize worth more than $800,000.

The man in his 60s won a first division prize of $832,269.66 in TattsLotto draw 3317 on Saturday, May 4, but had neglected to check his ticket until a week later.

“I only think to check my TattsLotto tickets when I go to the shops to buy a new one the following week, so I had no idea I’d won until I bought another ticket on the weekend,” the winning local, who wishes to remain anonymous, said.

“I’ve probably been playing as long as TattsLotto has been around, so just over 40 years.

“I’m renting at the moment so now I’ll actually be able to buy my first home – I think I’ll look at buying a unit.

“I’ll also buy a new car, and probably keep the rest of the prize money.

“I’ll have to speak to a financial bloke about investing.”
