CENTRALS withstood a fierce challenge from Junior Magpies on Saturday morning to prevail by just 12 points and remain one of only two undefeated teams in the under 14 competition.

Having won its first four games, the Hawks desperately needed to win to stay in touch with Kangaroos who also chalked up its fifth consecutive win to start the season.

Kangaroos, meanwhile, produced a stunning first half performance before cruising to a 39-point win over a hard working College.

The Roos kicked three goals in each of the first two quarters while holding the Blues to just one major, opening up a 30-point lead by the main change.

Daniel Maples, Daniel Saunders and Ryley Patford starred for the Roos while Cameron Nolan, Riley Calvene and Harrison Davies were good for the Blues.

In other matches, Tigers kicked eight goals to nothing after half time in its 48-point win over Saints while Imperials had little trouble accounting for Bright by 14 goals.
