WANGARATTA City is yet to string together consecutive victories this season, however, it gets a golden opportunity to make it two wins in a row on Sunday when it faces Albury City.

From seven matches, the Red Devils have four wins, two losses and a draw to sit sixth on the Albury/Wodonga Football Association ladder.

Their good has been very good with victory against Wodonga Diamonds, however, just a week later they blew plenty of chances in the loss to Twin City.

Wangaratta co-coach Jon Shaw said the difference between winning and losing for his side had been simple.

“It sounds obvious but in the games we’ve drawn or lost we’ve been paid the price for not putting the ball in the back of the net,” he said.

“We should have beaten Melrose and we dominated the first half against Twin City.

“But then we’ve paid the price for lapses.

“Every game this year is going to have its ups and downs where both teams have momentum so it’s about taking your chances.”
