THE funeral for Wangaratta couple Bill and Pauline Thomas has been set for next Friday.

They were found dead in their East Wangaratta home last Monday – their son Ian Thomas has been charged with their murders.

A requiem mass will be held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church at 10am next Friday, followed by a burial at the Wangaratta Lawn Cemetery.

The Thomas’ other four children – Bernadette, Jacinta, Madonna and John – have expressed their love for their parents and the pain and loss they are feeling in a death notice placed in the classified section of today’s Wangaratta Chronicle.

Ian Thomas remains in custody, awaiting his next court date in Wangaratta on September 5.

The police investigation continued on Wednesday with a search of the river near the Thomas’ Great Alpine Road home.
