Lakers re-sign Fraser

Yarrawonga Mulwala coach excited about what future holds for club

YARRAWONGA Mulwala has re-appointed coach Lee Fraser for a third season in charge at Victoria Park

YARRAWONGA Mulwala has re-appointed coach Lee Fraser for a third season in charge at Victoria Park with the man himself excited about the future for the Lakers.

Fraser joined the Lakers late in the 2010/11 season before taking on the captain-coach role in 2011/12 and leading the side to its first Wangaratta and District Cricket Association A grade premiership.

Back-to-back premierships looked on the cards after the Lakers finished on top of the ladder this season, however, they were knocked out by eventual premier Bruck in the semi final.

Despite the disappointing finish to the season, Fraser said the enjoyable atmosphere at the club made it easy for him to continue.

“It was a pretty informal process but I was pretty happy to do it again,” he said.

“I’ve really enjoyed my first two years in the competition and I reckon we’ve built up a fair bit in that time.

“It’s getting easier and easier each year.

“The committee is fantastic, the junior program is fantastic so it’s just a really great place to be around.”
