Amazing display of ballet talent inspires kids

STUDENTS at Wangaratta Primary School were in for a special treat last week, when dancers from the Australian Ballet visited the school.

The Dance Education Ensemble tours primary schools to present the “Out There” program, aimed at providing young people with an unforgettable experience in which they can get actively involved and develop an appreciation for dance.

For grade five student Luke Toohey, who was part of the welcoming committee and showed the troupe around the school, it was an enlightening experience.

“I’m not much of a dancer and I’m more into tennis and football, but it was fun and everyone really enjoyed it,” he said.

“You could see how fit they all were, especially the way the guys could lift the girls up high.”
