World record bid on Girl Guides’ bucket list

WANGARATTA Girl Guides have their buckets and sponges ready for a Guinness World Record attempt on Saturday.

A handful of local Guides, including Joelle Everingham (left) and Ashleigh Doig, will be washing cars at Wangaratta Repco in the morning.

Fellow Guides at another 99 Repco sites across the country, will be doing the same, hoping to collectively wash 4350 cars and set a new Guinness World Record for ‘Most Cars Washed in a Day’.

“It’s pretty exciting to be part of it,” said Ashleigh, who’d got a bit of practice on her parents’ car.

Wangaratta Girl Guides leader Alex Lewis said the girls have to wash 30 cars between 9am to 11am, with Mansfield Girl Guides having a similar target, at the same site, from 11am to 1pm.
