WANGARATTA’S Centre for Continuing Education is forecast to achieve a remarkable $600,000 financial turnaround just 12 months after calling a crisis meeting to determine its future.
Felicity Williams, The Centre’s chief executive officer, described it as a fantastic achievement for the management team and staff who she said had worked well above and beyond during the past year.
“They have pulled together determined to turn our organisation around,” Ms Williams said.
“Our 2016 financial result will be positive – while currently being finalised, we have achieved a turnaround of well over $600,000 from the loss we incurred in 2015 to our profit result in 2016.”
The final results will be available at the annual general meeting on April 26 at 5pm at The Centre.
It’s a dramatic resurrection from this time last year when The Centre faced major financial challenges and called an extraordinary meeting for members and the wider community to gauge support for its role and continued operation.
